    Dear Diary,

When I went to the ceremony of Twelves, I was shocked when the Chief Elder skipped my turn. I was ashamed that he skipped me and wondered what I had done wrong. I felt apprehensive and wondered if he would call me later. Finally, once he was done with everyone, he called my name. I felt relieved, and went up on to the stage to get my reward. When I was given my job as Receiver of Memory, everyone gasped. Now there would be two of us, me and an old man. Once the ceremony was done I left and called my friend, Asher. I asked if he wanted to ride his bikes with me. Asher said he would go with me, but I could tell something was wrong. He was treating me different. We both rode our bikes to the houses. The next morning I got to go my job. It was completely different than the rest of the community. It had locked doors, and nicer furniture. I found the old man who I shared the job with, and introduced myself. I had a lot of questions to ask, but didn’t have the guts to ask him. The Chief welcomed me, and told me all about the job. The Chief asked me if I had any questions. I did, but still didn’t ask him. He then showed me around. I got to see my bed where I would be sleeping, and where I would be eating. The Chief then asked me if I knew what snow was. I was clueless.

    Dear Dairy,
A few days after August’s funeral, I went to Isaac’s house. We played video games on his computer. Isaac told me how much Augusts loved me. He told me that he had written a eulogy to an Imperial Affliction. Once he said that I rushed over to Augusts house to see if he had left it at there house. It wasn’t there, so I went to the hospital to see if it was there but it wasn’t either. A few days later His dad called me and said that there were pages torn out of his journal. I wanted to know so badly what he had wrote in his eulogy. Later I went to bed and the next morning my mom woke me up. She had Kaitlyn on the phone. Kaitlyn asked me how I was doing and if I was feeling all right about Augustus. I told her about the eulogy and she said maybe he mailed it to someone. He mailed it to Peter Van Houten. Right away I wrote an email to Lidewji Vliegenthart (Peter’s assistant who resigned). Later she responded saying that she would go to his house first thing in the morning and try to find the eulogy. She responded later in the afternoon saying she found the eulogy. She sent four attachments and I opened them. As I was reading this I found out that when I was in the hospital unconscious he was there in the room holding my hand. He said that he hoped I had died in there because he didn’t have the heart to tell me that he was going to die too. He said that he liked his choices, and he hoped I liked mine too, and I do.

Percy Jackson, The Sea of Monsters, is the best book I have read in a long time. The beginning is shocking, and from that point on keeps me on my toes. The beginning starts out with Percy and his friend/Protector going to the last day of school. During school in one of Percy’s classes, PE, they play a game of dodge ball and some giants come in to the gym. Everybody starts running away screaming as the giants grab a few people. Percy yells “ Let them go” and then the giant waved his hand for some more dodge balls. These dodge balls were not like red rubber ones these were like bronze the size of cannon balls. The giants however did not have the greatest I sight, so they threw a couple missed. Anabeth later would come in and knock one of the giants by punching it in the nose. Anyway the book has good rhythm, never boring, always on
my toes on what happens, and overall an amazing book. Rick Riordan is maybe the author ever. This book makes me want to read all his other books. He has so much detail in this book its mind blowing. When I read the first sentence I knew it was going to be a good book. He describes so much of the book like on page #23, “ That left me standing alone in the middle of the burning gymnasium.” Overall this book is the best book ever.

    Dear Diary,
It’s my first day here and I’m already scared and tired. I have no idea where I am, what my name is, and why someone put me here. I met a lot of new people such as Alby and some others. This place is a weird scary place. I want to leave, but I don’t know where to go. I’m lost, sad, and overwhelmed. I’m going to find out what’s going on and why someone or something would put us all here. I don’t even remember my real name. Other teenagers keep telling me its normal and it would come back, but why would I ever forget my name. Something is definitely wrong and weird about this place. I’m surrounded by gigantic walls on all sides and there’s one small opening to which people say the “maze” is. Alby told me I should never go in there and that its filled with horror. Alby also mentioned that there are these people called “runners” and they run into the maze and try to find a way out. Yet, no one has ever found a way out. At dusk, the opening in the wall starts to close and if the Runners don’t make it back in time before it closes, they are trapped in there until it opens back up in the morning. Alby said no one has survived a night in the maze because there are these creatures called Grievers and they will attack and kill you. Well, I hope to survive all of this.
    Yours Truly,
    Thomas

    Dear Denny,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know Eve meant a lot to you and Zoe. I want to tell you that you should have taken Eve to the doctors even if she refused. I know you were trying to help even though it was the wrong decision. You would have done anything for her no matter what happened to the both of you or Zoe. You loved her very much and probably miss her. If it makes you feel better she is now in a better place with God. You and Enzo will always be in her heart. You should have told her it was the better choice to go to the doctors. Because now that she is gone, her parents are going to sue you for custody over Zoe. What are you going to do in court you can’t just say she is my daughter and that you deserve her more than Eve’s parents. Eve even told her parents that she wanted Zoe to go with her Grandparents. This must be very hard for you and you must be very stressed about this. In my opinion you should keep her and tell Eve’s parents that she is yours and can’t be torn away from her mother and her father, it will ruin her life forever not being able to see you. She loves you and can never be torn apart from you. That is just my opinion and it is your choice to choose if you want to keep her or let her stay with her grandparents. I will hope for you to respond and I will write with you later.

The book “the winter” was a really thought provoking book in my mind. This book was the alternative ending to the book hatchet. Both books I enjoyed very much but I enjoyed this one more because it was interesting to see how the book could have ended and what would have happened to the characters if it ended that way. This is a survival story of trying to stay alive during the winter in the wilderness stranded. I like the way how the author kept the book very real and didn't have anything fake like a zombie apocalypse or anything like that. The author kept the book simple stay hunt, stay alive, and prepare for the next day. I liked how the book ended in this alternative ending better than I did in hatchet. Although I did not particularly like the ending in this either. This quote is by a fur catcher living not that far away from Brian who is struggling to stay alive “smelled your smoke 3 weeks ago. I didn't want to bother you.” To me this didn't make sense because if you saw smoke rising in the air ,which usually means a distress signal, you not just leave them alone, you would help them. It seems like this ending and the one from hatchet still need to be stepped up. Other than the ending the whole books great. Its exciting without having to much action. The book keeps a good pace and I never got bored or felt like the book was getting dry. The book makes you realize that in survival you cant waste anything. Daylight, meat, water, and many other things are things you have to ration to survive or you wont survive. I like how the author has everything affect brain's survival like the weather and other predators. I will definitely be reading the sequel cover to cover!

    Dear Gabby,

I know it must be difficult that your brother is going through cancer. It might be comforting to know that you have a true friend by your side. Aria is there for you and understands what you are going through. When Aria met you at the hospital she said she would pray for you and has been praying since that very day. The doctors have even been praying for your brother Marco too and they are hoping he will get better soon. I believe it is a true blessing that you and Aria live in the same apartment building and are in the same classes at school. What a surprise it was to find out you were both in Track and Field and Music together. It’s hard to find special friends like Aria because she listens to all your worries in life and she shows you how to deal with them. Aria even made you feel better when you were in Track and Field and thought people were going to laugh at you because you are not athletic. But Aria did not laugh or giggle like the other mean kids. She talked you into going and promised she’d be there with you every single step of the way. So far she has kept her promise. My advice to you is to spend as much time as you can with Marco and encourage him to keep fighting through this battle. When you need a friend you can always count on Aria to make you feel better.

    I Am Number Four
    By Pittacus Lore

I remember hearing stories of when the ground was shaking and the sky was filled with bursts of light on the planet of Lorien. My kind scattered from the planet. Nine of us scattered to a different planet called earth. We went to different countries and continents. Our race was counting on us to make our civilization stronger. Nine of us came, three of the nine are now gone. I’m number four. I’m afraid I am next.
My name is Daniel and my friend, or so called guardian, is called Henry. We are both aliens but we have powers that you dream of having. I have the power of strength and speed. Once we scattered and tried to fit in, people started to notice that we were not human and got afraid. A special attack team started to pursue our kind. Number 1 was killed in Malaysia. Number 2 was killed in England and Number 3 was killed in Kenya.
One day in the Gulf of Mexico where we were staying, I was at a party with a bunch of friends and I was sitting on the pier when a girl walked up to me and we started to talk until my legs started to burn and boil. I started to glow yellow. The marking on my leg began to show. I was scared so I ran to Henry. But…I forgot something. I turned back and gave the girl a kiss on the cheek and then ran back to Henry. I told him what had happened and we packed up our stuff, went inside the truck and left. We went to the gas station to get snacks and fuel. When Henry was inside the gas station, I was looking at the almanac trying to find what place we should go to next. I decided on Ohio.
When Henry returned to the car, I told him what we were going to do. He asked, “What should be our new names?” I told him that my name would be John Smith and his would be Mr. Smith. We both agreed and started to head off for Ohio.
When we were in the car, I looked out the window and saw a lake and some fields and fish jumping out of the water. When we finally arrived in Ohio, we found a rental to stay in. Once in our new home, we found a nice secluded school inside a forest.
The next day when I went to school, I saw a bunch of groups of kids. There was one kid standing by himself with a black shirt on that said NASA. He was looking up at the sky with a telescope and then there was a girl taking pictures of people.
As I exited the car, the girl who was taking pictures came over to me. She started to take pictures and I tried to hide. Henry had made it clear to not draw attention to yourself. She took a few shots and she told me her name was Sam. She said, “Since you are new kid, if anyone tries to pick on you, I’ll stick up for you.”
    I said, “Thanks!”
I checked in at the Principal’s office and made my way toward my first class--Astronomy. As I walked to class, I was bumped by a kid. His name was Mark. He turned around, smirked at me and ran to class. The kid with the NASA shirt told me that Mark was the captain of the football team and that I shouldn’t mess with him.
I walked to class and once I was in there, I was seated in the center of the classroom. The teacher was wearing a bright red jacket and in the middle of her lecture, my hands began to glow! I started to get dizzy. I pulled out my phone and texted Henry, “C-P-M-U-I-D-F-R.” That was code for “Come pick me up, I don’t feel right.” I sent the text as I limped out of the classroom. I ran down the hall trying to find a door with a lock on it. When I finally found one, I jumped inside of it and locked the door. I kept hearing knocks on the door and talking by the door.
It was Henry! He put some gardener gloves around my hands and picked me up. When we got to the car, I realized I forgot something. My phone was not in my backpack! I knew Mark took it!

Jlynn: How do you feel after escaping the maze?
Thomas: I don’t know what to expect actually, everybody is saying that I have to go through something called the Scorch.
Thomas: I am also confused about what Wicked is… I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing but Theresa said it was good but many say that it is bad.
    Jlynn: Oh, who is Theresa?
Thomas: She is a girl that came from the maze, and she is the only girl from the maze.
Jlynn: I heard that Gally killed your friend named Chuck and how did you feel about that?
Thomas: Actually I don’t really want to talk about that but maybe if I do I will get some closure.
Thomas: Well first of all Gally is shank. I am glad that he is gone and I don’t have to worry about him. Second I really miss Chuck, and I made a promise to him but its personal so I don’t really want to talk about it.
Jlynn: Ok, no problem. Also What are your thoughts on being a runner.
Thomas: Well I really like being a runner. Its tiring but I enjoy it because I was able to explore things. Of course that’s over now since the maze is over.
Jlynn: Who do you trust the most out of Theresa, Newt, and Minho?
Thomas: Probably Theresa then Newt then Minho.
Thomas: I don’t know for sure.
Jlynn: Well, Thank you for your time Thomas.
Thomas: No problem, but I have to go to bed soon I am really tired and I have been running for about 24 hours and I am eaxhausted.

    Dear MacPherson,
we are currently 27 hours into this mission, we have the girl. We are on our way to Kempten Otto said that it was the safest way to get us Switzerland, possibly the fastest way. We are now 32 hours in and we are in Kempten I am a little nervous because it is eight o'clock and the next train is at leaves at two but I have to do what I have to do the girl whose name is Angelika is hungry so Otto is walking to a near bye bakery to get some breakfast. While Angelika is eating her food me and Otto are trying to figure out the plan. Otto saw building that he wants to see, Angelika wants to go to a museum so it looks like I will take her there. Otto and I know that we need to be careful. We have decided to meet each other at some benches by the platform at twelve o'clock. While at the museum I lost Angelika. She was at a big white house I remembered that she wanted to go there earlier. We met Otto at the platform and I told him about the house. He told me that that was Hitlers guest house, and that street was filled with Nazis. We got onto the train and we were about to leave but then a lady came she had a black band on her arm, me and Otto were thinking the same thing, get off of this train! Otto pushed the lady out the way Angelika and I ran out Otto looked at the lady and raised is gun, the lady fainted before he could push the trigger. Otto jumped out of the train and ran to Angelika and I. We went to the woods and found a safe hiding place. Otto told me that this was his home town and he did not expect that many Nazis. Right now we are still hiding trying to figure out our next move that is fast and safe.

My name is Thomas. That’s about one of the only things I can remember well. Somehow, someway, I've ended up in this place. I am full of mixed emotions. Anger, confusion, and sadness all at the same time. I’ve been wiped from almost all my memory. They’re slowly coming back to me as I go, but I can only remember the tiny details, and I cannot whatsoever remember the essentials of my memories. It’s like looking at them through a puddle of murky water. When I was in the Box, I had absolutely no sense of what was happening. It felt like I was in there forever, and now this. I have no idea whatsoever what will happen to me next. A boy, a boy named Ben, I just saw him, and unpleasant sight. He’s just went through ‘the changing’ which thinking about has only made me more frustrated. And some kid said he saw me, saw me go through it. So far I barely have any friends. I just feel so lost, so confused. Then there’s a place called the Maze, and the walls move that allow you to enter in, and supposedly so do the walls inside of it. I’ve heard terrible things of it. Saw terrible things of it. Like the Grievers, always looking thirsty for flesh. But somehow I feel I’m destined to be a runner. I know what’s out there, but somehow I just know. Right now there are a lot of things I don’t know, but somehow, just somehow I know I’m a runner.

    Dear Journal,
I can’t believe what just happened. Who am I? What am I doing here? The only thing I know is that my name is Thomas. A girl came the day after me. She is apparently the first girl ever to come to this place. She came with a note saying, “She is the last one ever.” The girl seems to know who I am. I do not know if that is a good sign or a bad sign.
They call this place the Glade. I call this place a prison. Outside this place is the Maze. No one has survived the Maze until last night. I survived the Maze. I do not know how I survived the Maze, but I did. The only problem that has happened since I have left the Maze is that the walls won’t close. I want to know, no, I need to know what is happening. I want to get out of this prison. To many people have died trying to get out.
When I came back from the Maze, some Gladers and I the Glade to go back and scavenge the Maze. We went to the place I killed a Griever. Yes, I killed a Griever. A Griever is the most horrifying, deadliest thing I have ever seen. The Griever is a hybrid of an animal and a machine. The Gladers and I found a beacon that was built in the Griever. I don’t know what is going to happen. All I hope is that I will leave the Glade.

    Dear Mia,
I’m so very sorry that you got into a terrible car accident and that now you might not be able to play your cello at your parent’s funeral. I love all of your backstories that you tell, I did get a little grossed out when you explained your brothers birth. I can’t believe you cut the umbilical cord, why would you want to do that? I feel so bad for all the other stories but the time for Halloween was really funny. When Adam played with his band Shooting Star you weren’t just sitting backstage, you went into the crowd, danced with other people, and made new friends. I was so happy that you stepped out of your comfort zone. I really hope that you live through this dramatic disaster so that you could live with Adam for the rest of your life. I know that you doubt yourself with Adam, but you guy are such a cute couple and you two were put together for a reason. He came to you in the hospital, I now the living you does not know that but you soul knows what has happened and you know that he loves you with all of his heart. He didn’t do his show for you, and he will always be with you and love you. I feel so sorry that he did not get to see you but you did and the sight of him made you happy. Your story has made me cry almost five times now and is making want to keep on reading. I’m so sorry that your life has had such a devastating turn, but I know it will get better. God did all this for a reason and it will work out in the end.

As the ship landed Hazel and I stood next to each other waiting for the ship in the sky that awaited landing. As the ship came down and I heard Terminus screaming at the guards running in with their weapons a draw "No weapons in the courtyard or in the city for that matter!" All the guards made a grown of disappointment and then broke the rule anyway as terminus was knocked over on the grass from a flying tiger that had been in the battle. As the ship landed we let out a sigh when we saw a scrawny boy and a girl then I realized who the girl was it was Annabeth from camp Half-Blood then she ran up and hugged me and I hugged back. As they had stepped upon the Argo 2 and then they had realized they were Greeks as they realized that all the soldiers attacked the Argo to the scrawny boy Frank brought the ship a lift and then another statue of Terminus threw a boulder at us when. The Argo 2 had swiftly dodged it. The Reighna commanded them to stop and the Argo 2 stayed a loft and they came down unarmed then Reighna explained that they are from camp Half-Blood Then they had met in the court house and where explaining how they had come to help in the war then Piper a female stepped up and explained that she had a magical dagger that allowed her to see the future and the some of the past. The bossy Octavian stepped up and as usual he said that they were Greeks and sense when have we helped the Greeks. At this point I had thought this whole thing is ridiculous and so did Annabel but ever sense I lost my memory I've had to live off of fragment in my dreams of Annabeth and I know for a fact that where to lose not to be dating. Then we left to continue on our quest to find Nico and claim the Mark of Athena.

I bring my family food and new things the most I can. I’m the most wanted person in all the sectors. The government does not know anything about me. They put up wanted signs on the billboards but they don’t know what I look like. We both have a lot of Notes which is very good. I wish I could talk to my mom and make her feel loved. Dear Charlie,

I am loving the book on how not to reading. It has so far worked wonderful for me. So far I got my mom to read the half of the books far. I like the tip was to start crying in front of her so that she will read the rest of it for me, and I am only twelve years old. I have to admit that the book really works. Now I only read the first, middle, and last chapter of it, and the teacher only quizzes us on those chapters. Now I get A’s on the tests and now I am passing sixth grade. I am also happy because it is very entertaining and mainly the tips actually work. I have tried many other books and they never worked. So I am very happy because it works. Now I will never need to read a book because I can always get my mom to read me it every time, ore if she is not here I can first read the first, middle, and last chapters. So I would love to meet you some time and give each other some other tips about life hacks and things you should always know. Now I would like to thank you for all your useful tips and ideas because they rally helped me in life a lot .

Sincerely your friend and pal and have a nice day, CJ Zeller

    Dear Gabrielle,
My name is Makayla and you have been an inspiration to me forever. I know you have gone through some hard times. I know times got rough especially when you were a baby. Anyway I’m writing you this letter to help you. Now I know you are a lot older but I’ll try to help. So, I know how you have wanted to be done with gymnastics recently I have to I think that all gymnasts go through this at least once in their career. I have been faced with that and it’s hard to tell the people that count on you the most you want to be done. I have a feeling why you didn’t quit is because you didn’t want to let them all down. Do not worry you will get through the rough patch I promise. If not maybe the sport just is not for you anymore. But I know that you are not a quitter you are so much stronger than that.
Id likes to congratulate you on being the first African American to win individual gold. However, you are one of the strongest people I know well I have not really met you but I think that you are way stronger than you think.. Keep up all of the wonderful work at the gym with Chow I hope to see you make a big comeback soon. When I saw you at Olympic tryouts I had no doubt you were going to be on the team and later you became part of the fierce five. Gabby you are inspiring and I hope to meet with you in person some day

    Dear diary,
Going to Hogwarts was scary and exciting at the same time. Just getting to Platform nine and three quarters was hard and frustrating because there were just Platforms nine and ten. I saw a family of about six members. I was very confused because every time they went toward the platforms they just kept disappearing. After all the boys went missing, I went up to the mother of them and asked where to go. When she told me I did what she told me. I felt a little more relived that I found out where to go. All the students boarded one train. I met up with one of the boys that I saw going to the platform and was pretty glad I found after all they seem like they know what they are doing. I was starving because my Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon never gave me a meal that would satisfy me. Hagrid had given me a pocket of money, and I went right to the food cart. I bought chocolate frogs, Berry Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, gum, pastries, and many more. I started eating the pastries as fast as I could, stuffing my mouth. When Ron, the boy I saw with his mother, saw me about to eat the Every Flavor Beans, he stopped me and said “When they say every flavor, they mean every flavor.” We both took one, I got sprouts. I felt so disgusted and it tasted a little sour. While we were in our room on the train, this toadless boy, named Neville Longbottom, opened our rooms door and asked if either of us had seen a lose toad. I got a little annoyed that he didn’t even knock, he just barged in being all rude. Later, Neville came back with his friend, who was very sassy and bossy, asking the SAME question. Once the train arrived at Hogwarts, I was ready and excited to see what room I was in.

    Dear Dairy,

My best friend Claire’s boyfriend is acting suspicious around her. Claire is getting freaked out because he isn’t answering any of her text messages. She wants to think it is because he is in the mountains with his family. They haven’t been separated from each other for a long time, and it feels like a thousand years that he has been gone. But I don’t think that is the reason she has not heard from him. I noticed that earlier in the week he looked like he was trying to escape whenever he was with Claire. Then the weirder he acts around Claire, the clingier she gets. I think he wants to break up with her, but is too afraid to say anything. I hope that Claire won’t get her heart broken by this no good boy before Valentine’s Day. I wish that Claire would stop being nuts over this guy and realize that he is a no good boy for her. Our other friend Jillian wants to have a plan for all of us girls to get dates. She is very into love and romance. Then there is me – I’m really not into it which makes me kind of feel alone and different. Everybody has a special connection to a boy except me. Even my guy friend Jan is looking for a girl to be with. Why is everyone so love crazy? I just don’t get it.

Well that is all I have to say right now I will write more tomorrow.

    Dear Veronica Roth:
I loved your book! It is really neat, inspiring, and casual. I loved all the parts of your book, but there are just some parts that were just not so great. Like the part where Will says “Because giving an Erudite boy a car is more important than giving food to the factionless,”. I thought that part was pretty messed up myself because that is sad and a selfish thing. But part of me agrees because it is they’re fault for leaving there faction so they did not have to be there anymore. The next part is when he says “All that stuff she said about your dad, though,” he says, “makes me kind of hate her. I cant imagine what good can come of saying such terrible things.” That part did not make sense because after that good things came to her not bad things so I don’t know one simple reason you put that. I think you should of put… “ I cant imagine what good can come, but I suppose some good things might happen”. One more advice on the giving a car is more important than food to the factionless. I think you should of put “giving food to the factionless is more important then giving a car to a Erudite boy”. I hope you take this advice for your next book, and take your time, to read this and think over it. Thank you for your time for reading this. I wish I could meet you in person and talk to you over this and read over this with you.

    Dear Diary,

Ever since I was little I knew there was something different about me. When I was young my Mom had placed me on the table while she went to do something, in the same room of course. I had accidentally rolled to the side and fell off the table. As my mom turned around I was about to hit the floor, but at the last second before I could have been hurt, I floated instead. My mom was shocked and scared at the same time, wondering what she would do if the preacher found out about her floating child. I’m nine now and I hear this story all the time. I was a unique baby. I often wonder if I could still fly once in a while, but I’ve never really been inspired to go and see, until this one day that came not long after. I was sitting on a branch of a tall tree. There was a mother and her two young baby birds in a nest right beside me. She brought one up to the side of the nest and pushed it down till it almost reached the ground. It rose up with all the power it had in its wings and flew. That got me thinking of how I had floated when I was young. I went inside and got in bed and waited for the next day to come when I would wake before the rooster crowed to see if I could fly. I got up and climbed to the top of my house, pretty high and scary when your up there. My heart was beating like a drum and I was sweating out of fear of what may happen if I couldn’t really fly anymore. I walked up to the edge and stood for a minute or two and thought, “You need to be brave and jump.” I stood there with one foot nearly off the roof. I said to myself, “jump, jump, JUMP!” There I was falling while my parents worried while watching through the window. Running in fear, they tripped on each other and landed on the floor. 3 seconds before I was to fall and hurt myself and be so grounded, I closed my eyes tightly then waited. I wasn’t on the ground, I was floating. I flew higher and higher every second I was in the air. I CAN FLY, I CAN FLY, I CAN FLY!!!!!!!

    Dear diary,
I had went to the kitchen and saw my Aunt Nora and mom they were both watching the T.V when I walked in I saw a man with a razor on the T.V. I said bet that he got that as a present from his daughter Aunt Nora giggled and mother looked straight at me and I stop laughing. Mother said “you both know you can’t force things right?” the name is in the book mother told me and I was a little confused “name?” I asked “yes, name your fathers name is In the book I still can’t believe you still haven’t found it.” I put my hands on my hips and asked her “why haven’t you told me this before?” “I thought it would’ve been best if you found it on your own, now will you excuse me I was suppose to be at the library 10 minutes ago to return some books.” Mother stand up and soothed out her white skirt since she heard that Emily Dickenson wore white skirts she walked over to me and hugged me and kissed the top of my head then went to the back door. When she left I went straight to the office and went to the book shelf and grabbed my book that was in a secret place only me and mother knew about. When I got the book I set it down on the desk and sat in the chair I started flipping through the pages when a doorbell rang I set down the book on a box. My Aunt Nora opened the door and saw that it was the goodwill deliver man she called my cousin Mortie to get the boxes In the office and he handed the man the boxes and went back to counting how many days he will turn eighteen. When he left I went back to the office to keep looking but when I went back I couldn’t find my book anywhere that’s when Mortie walked in and I asked him if he saw a book on top of a box and he said “I thought that was one of the donating books it looked old.” When he said that I was terrified.
    Sincerely,
    Emily

I liked this book a lot. It was full of action and even the dialogue was interesting when usually it’s boring. I also liked it because it’s about superheroes and I love a good story about the good guys fighting the bad guys. I would really recommend this book to a friend and I wonder what the next two in the series are going to be about. It really just depends on what genre you really like to read. Personally, I think that it was such a great book, that it could be a movie. The author did a great job on putting that picture in your mind. My favorite part in the story was when a kid named Razor, at the shelter Colin was at, tried to bully him by shaking his hand really hard. But, Colin’s super strength kicked in and he squeezed Razor’s hand so hard that he broke it. Everybody didn’t know how Colin did it because Razor is like seventeen and Colin is thirteen. It was like a miracle to them. Later on they become friends and Razor helps Colin on his journey. This book is full of just those types of parts and you just can’t put the book down once you start reading it. So, overall, I would really recommend reading this book if you are that person that loves action-packed books. After reading this book you will probably want to read the other books in the series.

    Thomas: Hello Sarah
    Me: How are you
Thomas: Not doing great. I have no idea here my friends from the Glade are.
Me: How did you lose your friends?
Thomas: Well, we where all inn the Cranks storage room where they keep all there food. Then all of a sudden there is a huge explosion sound and the wall starts to crumble. The Gladers run a opposite direction while me and a Crank named Brenda, run the other way.
Me: Wow, that is so sad to hear. Do you think that there still alive or do you think that they are all dead.
Thomas: No most likely not. I know that Minho will take good care of them and hopefully reach the safe haven together.
Me: What do you mean a safe haven?
Thomas: Me, the Gladers, and the Cranks all have this thing called the Flare. The only way we can get the cure is by reaching the safe haven.
Me: Sounds interesting and what is a Crank, you have been saying it throughout the interview.
Thomas: A Crank is what us Gladers call these people that are infected by the Flare.
Me: Well technically, aren't you and the other Gladers Cranks?
Thomas: Yes, because we are infected by the Flare. The Cranks have been more infected by the Flare and are stating to go crazy while us Gladers have not been much affected by it.
Me: That makes sense. Have you been able to contact your friend Teresa?
    Thomas: {silence}
Me: I am sorry I asked that would you like me to move on?
Thomas: No, no its okay its just i have been thinking about here constantly and I just hope she is ok.
Me: Hopefully once you find the other Gladers you will be able to find her to.
    Thomas: Thank you
Me: Well that is all I have to ask you and best of luck to you and your friends.
Thomas: Thank you and hopefully I could come back without the Flare hahaha.

Prompt My book is it by biography written by myself that shows my way into the MLB and my life before. It stars off with me learning how to play baseball on the shores of Peurto Caimito. Ever since I was a little boy I would play with my friends On the shores when the tide was low because there was a big mud space to play on. Me and my friends wouldn't have actual bats, we will play with sticks and fruit gloves will be little cardboard boxes or a six or eight pack of whatever. I learned how to pitch when I was little boy. My father was one of the best and strongest fisherman of the area I lived in. At a young age I will work on the boat with him, Fishing, and I would on $50 just from working on the boat. One time we were out fishing we saw strong point with a lot of fish. I was excited because I knew we would get a lot of money for however many fish we got. But then we had sort of an accident. The rope which is tied to the wrench that would stabilize the boat, came loose and snapped in an instant second hit my uncle and launched him across the boat.I was scared I didn't know what to do since I was only at a young age. He recovered well from that but soon died later that year. I never seen my dad cry so much or even cry at all at his funeral. I cried a little bit too. When I first tried out to play at a major-league level And I impressed pressed one of the Yankees scouts and he told me to pitch at one of the minor-league games.he then told one of the higher scouts that I was good. Once that scout saw me pitch he later then asked to meet me at my house to discuss a contract with the New York Yankees. The contract was a $2000 signing bonus with $50 per week. I was excited and so are my parents. So we signed it. My first season in the minors I pitched 52 innings and gave up 17 hits in one earned run. I struck out 58 and walk seven and have an ERA of 0.17. Tim Rumeris the club's pitching star one of the best guys in the golf closely with my very average that's why it's quite a run of success.

    Dear diary,
Ever since I was sent to the outer Providence I have not been able to stop thinking of Ky. But is that OK? I mean I'm paired with Xander and I do love him but its not the way I love Ky. Xander is my best friend and I would not want to hurt him, but he understands why I must go and find Ky, even if that means risking my life. I manage to sneak on with aberritions on a plane to nowhere. The plane goes to this barren land and the officials gives us coats and boots and leave us there for the one who has been there before us. It was weird just being there. You could feel the sorrow in the air. It was depressing that these people were just waiting to die. We were trying to survive on little food and water and being sent out to keep back the enemy of the Society. I get the chance during enemy fire to run with Indie and some other boy to run to The Carvings where I suspect Ky to be. It takes us all night to run there and when we do the boy that helped us get there says that he needed to go back because people would notice. We thank him and I remember the blue pills Xander gave me to survive and give him some. We were there about two weeks and as we were walking we see a dead body. Guess who it was. The boy that helped us and in his hand the blue pills. I look over at indie and she just turns away. She always tells me not to use them but she will not tell me why. Oh my gosh! Finally after forever we find Ky and now we are just trying to survive and put the prices of the puzzle together.

    Dear Thomas,
Congratulations on finding your way out of the maze. Don’t worry, I’m not a part of WICKED. I have sent you this letter to help you and give you some advice now that you are about to face the real world. Where you are headed is one of the most dangerous parts of the world. It is called the Scorch, the most burned down city in the world. You have heard of the disease called the Flare from Alby. Well, he had a good reason for not wanting to come back. The Flare is a horrible man-made disease that was spread on accident when the sun was staring to ruin the earth. The disease is in the brain. There are dangerous people out there called Cranks. Cranks have the Flare and some are past the gone. Be careful for them and watch your back; they may attack you when you would never expect it. You are probably thinking, ‘Why should I trust what this lady put in the letter?’ Well, you can choose to trust me, but I am telling the truth. I know all these things because I used to work for WICKED in another division. Don’t be angry with me and throw the letter away, but hear me out. I don’t agree with what terrible conditions that you have been out through, but this disease needs the cure. About that, I’m sorry for what happened to Chuck. I know how good he was to all of you and it is probably hard to cope the pain of your loss. Not just because I worked for them but I advise you to trust them. Trust them well but not all the time. You are one of the best in your group and I know you can make it through this next trial. I wish you and your friend Gladers the best of luck on your journey. Please take my advice and remember it when you are out there.

Hello my name is Charlie Joe and this is my guide how not to read and I hate reading, and if your reading this book you must also hate reading. Just remember this that you are not alone, and we will go through this together. This is a special guide for people just like us .
I am going to include many tips on how to not read .It can be hard to avoid reading a book at some point in your life.
Tip#1 if you ever have to read a book make sure it always ha short chapters. Trust me they will never know the difference. I have always
hated reading sense i was we toddler. But then I got older she started to say that i needed to read the rest of it and that was so not happening. But anyway the hole crying in front of mom so i wouldn't have to read it myself. So now I am in middle school, and I am proud to say that i still hate reading .I obviously did what I usually do. I read the back cover, the front inside flap, and the beginning and last chapter. Later i at lunch I sat down by my friend Timmy. I herd that he had tryouts coming up.I suddenly got a pretty uneasy feeling. I just looked up at the previous chapter and relied it was way to long. Basically I just ignored Tip#1.
Tip#2 Never read a book by someone cant pronounce. IT has to be friendly like Charlie Joe Jackson.

Growing up as a kid was mellow. My parents are not from Hawaii, we moved there when I was borne. We lived in a dangerous community. I was very hyper as a kid therefore my mom and dad put me in ju-jitsu. I was very good from the start because it came natural to me, and everybody said I was talented. As I grew up I got to a blue, green, red, then I got to a black belt. Everyone said that I was the fastest one to receive a black belt, I was honored. I entered a huge tournament, boy was I nervous. I was running through everybody and then I got to the finals. The guys were pretty difficult and tough but I got through them all. I heard rumors about the last guy like he is the toughest guy out there. When we finally met he was hard, we went on a back to back war. By the end I had scored the most points. I had won and became the first ever non brazillian person to win first place in a black belt division. At the time the UFC was just starting to get popular. The UFCs president, Dana White met me and heard about my accomplishments. He was starting to think over whether I could fight in the UFC. They decided that they wanted me for the UFC, we made plans for our first UFC fight. I was exited for the fight because if I won than I would not be a total failure.

There was a girl named Tris and her boyfriend named Four. They were happy together, but had their ups and downs. One day a woman from Erudite named Jeanie Matthews decided to invade one faction, Abnegation. She used serums to make everyone kill the Abnegation. Tris and Four together stopped her and saved most of the faction everything was destroyed. They had no home, no faction, and no one they could rely on except for each other. They had one mission and it was to get out of the city. During the way Tris decides to take risks and mostly sacrifices for other people. Every time she goes out to help she doesn’t even care about her own safety. On one mission Tris turns herself in to the Erudite to save other people. She nearly dies because Jeanie Matthews was about to insert a needle in her arm, but not just any needle this was a needle that would kill Tris. Luckily Four had a plan with Peter to keep her alive. Peter would switch the death needle with a different needle. This new needle paralyzed her so she couldn’t move. She could only hear what was going on. Peter, Tris, and Four got out of Erudite headquarters safely. A while after all this commotion another war broke out and Tori was going to kill Jeanie. Tris was against this because Jeanie had something that she needed. Everyone thought Tris was a traitor, but Four knew she wasn’t a traitor because he found what Tris needed. Four and Tris were ready to leave the city to figure out what was going on in the outside world.

    Dear Diary,
today was interesting as always. Eric tried to have one of the newbee's killed; but of course Tris stepped in and saved the day. She offered to take his place and seemed as if she was willing to die for poor Al. It seems like the more dangerous her life gets here in Dauntless, the more pretty she gets. I'm not sure what it is that I like about her, but there sure is something that makes her different... It may be here daring eyes, or her curves, or her calm and steady voice, or even just her willing heart to dodge any bullet for anyone. But after all it is quite silly to think we could ever have anything... I mean she's two years younger then me, and quite a bit smaller. And I doubt she even looks at me as anything but her trainer and mentor. Although we were from the same factions- both abnegation; but I don't intend to tell her any time soon of my past. Besides, the leaders don't like when we talk about well "Before Dauntless" type a thing. I can't help but want to walk over towards just her during training. In fact today when I helped her grip the gun, I couldn't help but grasp her hips to "show her how to aim". I'm not sure what she thinks of me honestly, I mean after today. I nearly killed her while throwing knives, and she took it as me trying to hurt her. But it was just intended to give her a warning that I wasn't going to hit her head, and slaughter her. But man, there's something about Tris Prior, is she; no that's too much to hope for and besides no one is supposed to know about it if she was. But maybe. Is it even possible after how strict and observed the tests have become? Is it possible Tris is... Divergent?
    Always,
    Tobias

Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse that began with his no-good,dirty,rotten stealing-great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnats. Now Stanley has been sent to a detention camp, where bad boys dig holes to build character. He quickly realized, however, that character-building isn't the only reason for the holes. The warden is looking for something. But what? Fate is discussed threw this book the Yelnats family curse and its link to a bandit named Kissing Kate Barlow. Stanley has now got to the a boys' detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the warden makes the boys"build character" by spending all day, every day, digging holes: five feet wide and five feet deep. It doesn't take long for Stanley to realize there's more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the warden is looking for something. Stanley tries to dig up the truth in this inventive of crime and redemption. Stanley Yelnats' family blames their bad luck on his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great-great-grandfather. The family believes he was cursed when he failed to keep a promise to Madame Zeroni. The idea of something larger than ourselves at work is present through the story. Stanley and another boy, called Zero, even feel drawn to seek refuge at the top of a mountain called God's Thumb.

    Dear David ,
I know that you are autistic and it is difficult for you to communicate but don’t worry because you have a kind sister that will give you a communication book. The communication book will have lots of words and rules to help you. Make sure you listen to your sister, Catherine because she has lots of wonderful advice for you. Whenever Catherine thinks of another rule she adds it to your communication book. When someone asks you a question and you don’t know how to answer, look in your book and there will be many cards with words for you to communicate with. There are lots of words on the cards like “sandwich”, “pizza”, “soda”, “eat”, “happy”, “sad”, “thank you”, “girl”, “boy”, “please”, “I’m sorry” and many more.
I know you love rules so you should be able to follow everything in the book. There are rules like “chew with your mouth closed”, “say thank you when someone gives you a present” and “if the bathroom is closed, knock, especially if Catherine has a friend over”.
I also have lots of good advice and things to help you.
    1. I know you love your red umbrella but don’t open it up in the house.
    2. When you go to the video store you love, make sure you get a video that your dad says you can rent.
    3. Since it is hard for you to speak, you should get a pen pal on the computer or write down what you want to say on a piece of paper.
    4. Get a dog and walk it every morning.
    5. Lay on a blanket and do some cloud watching because it is relaxing.
I hope you like my diary to you with my good advice. I think you will find this to be very helpful.
    Sincerely,
    Olivia

    Dear Diary,
Today something extraordinary a short elderly gentlemen with a very odd thing in his hand they were like grains of rice. This man told me to get a jug of water, put the seeds in, put ten of my hairs in there and when it started bubbling I would have to drink it. I didn’t know if all of this was a fib or if it would kill me, but anything was better than living with my two lazy and wicked aunts. My parents were gone and nobody loved me. I was running back the nettles were stinging my knees but I didn’t care. The one thing that was supposed to make my life better, and I drop it. Ahhh! Aunt Sponge made it worse and started yelling at me for not chopping wood. The gentleman did also say that if an insect or tree could get its “power”, whatever that meant. If it did than nothing would happen because I know magic is fake. It seemed that I care about something that isn’t that important. Aunt Sponge and Spiker are the laziest people in the world. If a pitcher of lemonade were in front of them, they wouldn’t pour for themselves. The spilling of the seeds might open up a new path for me. The unfruitful fruit tree is starting to give geen leaves.

Heads-Up baseball was a book I borrowed from my sister who plays softball. She said it would help with my mental game. The theme of the book I was reading was keeping focus in a baseball game. Some of the famous quotes from this book and from famous baseball players are: “an at bat is a terrible thing to waste” by Joe Madden. Another quote is “I wait and wait and let the ball get right on top of me and just swing with a loose grip” by Tony Gwynn. One specific way to keep focus is to prepare your body and your mind. One way to prepare your mind is to be playing one pitch at a time. For example do not think ahead of the game. One way to prepare your body is to put in a full 100 percent effort in practice, lessons and games. Three simple steps to keep your head in the game are (1) to be in control (2) have a plan before stepping into the batting box and (3) having trust in yourself. A quick tip to keep your self active and alert in the infield and outfield while in a game could be when you make a mental or physical mistake you can use your mental skills to try to re group and fix them. To be successful in baseball you need to have a plan before you bat, pitch, field or catch a ball.

    I Survived the 9/11 Attacks
The nine eleven attacks are one of Americans saddest day. The twin tours in New York where hit. The firefighters and policemen didn’t really know what was going on the just knew that is not good. So the people that are this book are firefighters which they are pretty cool. They don’t like using elevators because if they break then you die of the heat so they have to use the stairs for 100 floors. Each floor was the size of a football field o think how big is that. The firefighters could not save all of them but before they even got there the second twin tower got hit. That was hard because all of the firefighters were getting ready to go in to the first twin tower. Some of them where all ready in the first one but that didn’t stop the firefighters then went right to the second one because children where in both those towers and that is what they want first. Everyone that was not in the twin towers ran because of all the smoke and all the trash. After like nine minutes they both came crashing down and that was not good because there were still people that where in there which they did because most of them jump out the windows. The firefighters did all they could be lost some of the firefighters which is really sad because they went in risking their life and didn’t accomplished there goal.

    Dear Diary,
Today, since switching places with Sam I got to go to batting practice. I started walking up to the plate when I noticed that I had to face Klum as the pitcher. This was bad because he is a bully and he was already mad at me for being late to practice. I had so many things running through my mind like what would he do to me? I took that all out of my mind and just stepped in the batter’s box ready to hit the ball. I was more worried about hitting like Sam, who was obviously the teams’ best hitter. I need to keep anyone from knowing the secret that Sam and I switched places. I stepped out of the box to get refocused and to do some swings. When I stepped back into to box, Klum looked at me with a smirk, winded up, and threw the ball right at my face! All I could do was close my eyes and spin around. THUMP! It hit me right in the spine which knocked the wind out of me. Coach Sharp immediately came to see if I was ok. Coach looked at Klum and told him to leave and that he was done with practice. Klum then threw his glove on the ground and stomped off the field. I was so mad for what he did to me. I will get revenge on him tomorrow. I will stand up to him and tell him to stop messing with me.

In my opinion this book was great. I very much enjoyed this book because it had a great story line to it. I think it had a great story line because this girl from the most peaceful faction converts to the craziest faction there is. At first she doesn’t fit in but then she starts to realize that she is a great fit and starts to dominate the ranks to the point where she is targeted because of her skill. But what her enemies don’t know is that she is Divergent, Which lets her do better than others. I would definitely prefer this to a friend if they asked me what to read because I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The battle did a big number on me. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me and I’m sure it will always be. Just the thought of the best men a man will ever meet, the best, most loyal, the most dedicated and toughest men a man had the privilege of knowing. Occasionally I find myself up against a wall or sometimes on the floor, holding my ears because all I could hear are the screams and the fear in the voices of my fallen marines that died on that fateful day. Michael Murphy, the best commander a squadron could have. He was very methodical. Always laying things out and going over them over and over again, always trying to find a way to make it better. Like any good commander would, made sure that everyone else was on board with the plan, never deciding by himself. Until the day that he died he always had a plan. Matthew “ Axe” Axelson. He was one of the smartest marines I ever knew. Whenever we where our way to a new place he was usually playing the New York Times crossword and always knew all the answers he was also the sharpest shooter that I’d ever seen. On the day that he died he didn’t waste one bullet. He always used one bullet to kill each one of his enemies. He was a really big family man. He was married to his beautiful wife Cindy. Each morning they would communicate with each other anyway they could. Daniel Dietz. He was a big family man and so was the rest of the men in our squadron . When operation redwings was launched Daniel was on the verge of buying a house with his girlfriend. Even though he was here with the rest of us he was still telling his girlfriend what he wanted with the house. Very picky. A classic mountain man, he was obsessed with yoga, drawing, mountain climbing and anything that had to do with the outdoors . Whether it was fishing, or kayaking, or even just walking on the beach. He loved his two dogs. They were big tough dogs, just like him. I don’t think he would choose any other type of dogs. Daniel fired all his bullets even to the point of where he couldn’t stand anymore, he never gave up on the battle field. These were the best men I have ever met and I thank the Lord that I did. One thing that I regret is that I couldn’t save their lives and let them go back to their families or even get back to the camp. I just wish I could’ve gotten them out of there alive.

    Dear Mr.Flagg

I think that you shouldn’t have tried to kill the queen. I mean seriously don’t you think that someone would have drank the cup before she would to make sure that it wasn’t poisoned?! Sure it’s great that you came to your senses and decided not to kill her but why would you even think about it! It would make more sense if you tried to kill the king. He trust you and it would be a surprise to him because as I said, he trust you. It would be easier to kill him because if you think about it he’s really fat so he could barely move if he tried to fight you and he’s really really old. Plus if you managed to kill him the queen wouldn’t really put up a fight. Not saying that girls cant fight I mean look at Ronda Rousy. The queen would just send guards to find you. If you killed the queen the king would go crazy and would never stop until he found you then you then he would kill you. So if I were you I would just I would go back to do really cool magic at little kids birthday partys. Though I have to admit that crushing the spider to get the venom into the cup was pretty clever. Like I said someone would have have tasted it before she had.

My name is Thomas. That’s about one of the only things I can remember well. Somehow, someway, I’ve ended up in this place.

    Dear Katniss,
I think that you would benefit by taking the presidents advice. Take the interviews by surprise and get them jumping out of their seats but then again they probably already are since you where the girl who was on fire. But tell them that you and Peeta have been star crossed lovers since the games but you will never forget the kiss you and Peeta had shared the first on since you were chosen to be together in the games. But don’t bring up who I know you really love is Gale. But I would like to advise to you Katniss that you must watch what you say there have been riots in other towns and the next thing you want is Prim sitting up on a pedestal and killing her with a gun for what you do. Also stay away from the wood s for a while because you now president snow in watching you and if he finds you he will kill you Katniss he will. Be careful around the Seem I hear Greasy Say has been selling your secrets to the Capitol for grain. But find Gale before you go to the interviews but don’t tell him about your meeting with president snow If you tell him he’ll possibly be killed. But one last word of advice before the Cinna and his crew get there run to Gale and kiss him then run back to the house and tell Cinna you went for a walk. Talk to you some other time well unless you’re dead but talk to you later.
    You’re Friend,
    Preston Parker
